|PR0 for Forum URLs?|
Are there any blocks/filters that I'm not aware of?
| 10:27 am on Sep 7, 2004 (gmt 0)|
On a PR6 site I released a forum, custom coded (integrated within the rest of the site) and optimised in the simple methods - titles, h1's etc - exactly the same as the rest of the site.
I released on June 19th - today 7th September - everything under the /Forum/ directory has PR0 or grey for the new posts. (I don't run the google bar so much any more - so didn't notice till now).
I guess I've hit some kind of filter - but what - is it as dumb as "Forum" being a PR0 word?
Are there any blocks/filters for forums that I just haven't considered?

Naw, don't believe there's any filter on the word forum. Just have a look around this site. (No, don't look at the toolbar on this post - it's too new :) )
Have you taken care of the basics:
Is the forum actually getting crawled?
No session ids or logins getting in the way?

The only filter you've hit is the 'google hasn't updated its toolbar PR' filter

>Is the forum actually getting crawled?
Yep - even on page x in the serps for targetted keywords - eg. "widget forum".
>No session ids or logins getting in the way?
No session id, or login... unless you login.
Yep - very friendly, short and mod_rewrited.
eg. /Forum/1/ /Threads/1.html

Should have thought of that myself - anyone know the last update was?
I'm expecting a PR5 and better ranking than I see currently - luckily I've been at this game a long time and learnt the golden rule - "Be patient".

Exactly. I bet your pages are already ranked and show traffic.
