First one I've seen to carry across the SERPs when you do a search. I may just have my blinkers on though.

They've even created a special page for this logo:

h**p://www.google.co.uk/doodle8.html

If you use the url just mentioned....either .co.uk or .com and substitute 7, 6, 5, 4 etc... you will see all the recent series of these special doodle logo's that Google like to put up once in a while..winter olympics, winter..etc..

/doodle8.html
/doodle7.html
/doodle6.html
/doodle5.html
/doodle4.html
etc...
goes as far back as /doodle2.html
/doodle3.html is the sydney games of 2000

certainly expect to see the current one change as the athens games proceed...fun cool stuff and of course if you click on the logo you are taken to a results set for that logos theme...

Verrrrrry interesting. I like to see that little doodle. All of them aren't there though. I seem to remember a valentine's day logo with hearts on it, and there was a St. Patty's day one too with clovers.

Maybe someone will start "collecting" google logos to display all of them.

I don't think I'm that interested though :)

There IS already a page where all of the 'special' logos are collected: h**p://www.google.co.uk/holidaylogos.html

There IS already a page...

That's a good find. That page doesn't have all the ones listed in the spot first mentioned in this thred. I guess one would have to do some digging / consolidating to get them all.

Great link! Thanks!

PS. The user contributions found in the Nav was also very cool to see!

PPS. It's ok to post URLs where relavant as long as you aren't advertising one of your own sites. Using h**P to get by filters doens't need to be done. If you put http instead, people can just click the link. To the best of my knowledge, the mods are the ones who look out for bad URLs here and not a filter. If they don't like it, they'll take it out and advise you against using that URl.

First time I've seen it; the toolbar searchers get to see the doodles now. :)

Every year or so, Fark fans do some 'interesting' Google logos. Do a G search for 'fark google logos' to see some logos you probably won't see on Google's homepage. ;)
