Has anyone else also seeing it. If i search for any keyword term of my industry, i see 13 results on the first page and in most caes i see atleast 3 results absolutely irrelevant like ebay or work at home.
Is Google broken? can somebody tell what's going on?

It all looks fine to me. Are you seeing this for other searches also? And if you change preferences to see 20 instead of 10 are the irrelevant sites still showing up?

Maybe adwords running horizontally along the top of the results.

No. I've also seen it. For some time, I was #11 for my keywords and stayed in the first page ^_^
In the top appears "Results 1 - 10 of about ..." but there appear 11 entries. In my case, they where all rellevant.
I have no idea 'bout why this happens.

BestSearch, CoolWebSearch are known to add irrelevant search results on top of google, sounds to me like spyware especially with the the results your getting Adware and Spybot search and destroy are known not to successfully detect or get rid of this spyware try CWShredder to remove Coolwebsearch and to not sure how to remove BestSearch, CWShredder might work because its a variant of CoolWebSearch.

Mark

They can insert links inside another site? Thatīs dangerous...
Adding a toolbar is boring, but altering a web page is even worse.

I have 11 results, or so it appears at first glance. The first result is actually a news result.

It looks like the first result, but in reality it is above the first "real" result.

CWshredder just did the trick for me. I'm so glad I found this thread. For the past month the first page of a Google search or Yahoo search would pull up strange results. It was so annoying. I tried about six other spyware removal downloads but none worked. Finally, CWshredder did the job. What a waste of my time trying to get rid of this. What is the company that creates this stuff? Whoever creates this stuff should feel lucky that the victims of this stuff haven't found them yet. I'm sure I could find a jury of people who would say not guilty due to insanity for anything rash that I might do to the creators of such garbage.

There's scumware that can appear to alter the SERPs. Follow along with this older discussion

Do not subestimate an evil, crazy or drunk programmer ;)
Even I could make a program that listens at the http port and inserts aditional info conditionally (ex: adding links in SERPs), before the webbrowser gets the info. So, when the page is viewed, it can contain any modification made by the spyware. Actually, I wouldn't say that they insert links inside another site, but they would be putting it in surfer's screen

i've got hit with some devious spyware of some sort also that affects my google results but it is very interesting. if i do a search for most common terms in google i get the first page results as some sort of ppc ads. to get to the organic results i have to click the "next" button.

i ran a search for a term and the first page of results, which were ppc ads, had my friends ppc ad, which he only runs on adwords. also, the side bar adwords continues to show. while this could obviously be some sort of spyware it is strange because it almost seems like the spammy results are only google adwords so can't see how any company other than google could benefit from this.

strange but i'll use more spyware removers to correct, Adware has not helped. curious to know what is happening.

Cwshredder fixed it!

Amazing the time spent on creating this crap and the time it takes us to figure it out and remove it
