Hi, recently I went from the first page in google for a keyword to the second page. So I made some changes to it last week, minor ones to see if that would improve the ranking. So this morning I looked and the cache version is that of my updated page and my ranking went up 1 but still not on the first page. Can anybody please tell me how often google changes the search results or if my boosting by one from 15 to 14 was the boost my editing got me. Thank You, Kelley
Hi Kelly, I'm in a pretty competitive market, with about 9.5 million pages indexed in the results for my main keyword phrases. I notice updates just about every other day in my keyword SERPS. Since it's very competitive, the top 50 SERPS tend to remain pretty much the same however. It's difficult to climb within the top 20 for me. I've moved only two spots up to #7 over the past two weeks.
Both the ranking results and Cache date seem to change every other day. Internal pages seem to update no later than 72 hours after I tweak or change content for Cache and ranking changes. Hope that helps.
Hi Thanks Yes I remaines in the top 10 results for my main key workds in google for months and now I am on the second page. I keep editing everyday to add fresh content to get bumped up but nothing seems to work. My site is a PR8 and The only thing I can think of is I do have a paid link from a newspaper from about 800 pages of this newspaper site. Can I be penalized for and that but if I was penalized why would I still be a PR8 and only be pushed to the second page in google.
