| Is it the more the better |
| If it from related sites it is better. | Suppose I make 10 links with anchor-texts like "dog-animal", "cat-animal", "goat-animal" etc. Does it count 10 times for the keyword "animal" |
| It would count it ten times, but less weight would be given because their are other words in it. | And does it count for all the 10 different animals mentioned in these links? |
| Yes it will.

?! Good goddess! Both my site's home pages are PR7, including an internal page of PR7 I know has a number of solid backlinks. Could Google have rescaled PR such that PR is higher across the board? Dunno, but this would tend to explain why a few days ago one site of mine hit #1 on a SERP I've never been able to get before.

This is beyond beleif. It's as like hundreds of backlinks (1,200) have just disappeared! anybody got an idea of what G's doing? My Homepage dropped from 7 to 5. and most of the surviving datacenters com up as 404.

From oaktown's post, I guess not every site has gone up in PR. :( One notable one that did is [dmoz.org....] PR10 again.

Since this topic is backlinks... When trading links, sometimes the other party puts the back link to my site in a frame on their site. Will that count as a link? Or is that an undesirable way to have a backlink?

"Will that count as a link? Or is that an undesirable way to have a backlink?" it "May" count depending on if the googlebot finds it. teeceo.

Backlink and pagerank update for me to! This happened sooner than I thought. I hope they are back on a monthly update of these factors.

may I ask why I 'lost' about 90% of my backlinks? Google doesn't 'see' or count them any more?!

Natko, maybe 90% of back links have dropped below PR4. I have been down graded on two sites from 5 to 4 but on another 3 sites from 5 to 6. Two steps back....

No, most of these are PR4 or above.

Maybe Google thinks they are not related to your site or they might have been seen as a link farm or something like that.

No. Now are diversified to a page it links to, and no more all them to a home page. So I still have them all, but diversified.
