how would googlebot handle unreliable server conditions?
possible effects of poor server / connection performance

whats your opinion on how googlebot would deal with a site that periodically has server or bandwidth issues.

the symptoms i'm thinking of are largely time-outs indicated by the browser.

i'm wondering if a site can be marked as potentially unreliable and whether this will have an effect on its overall ranking?

like: "this site is good but its down occasionally so we'll give it a penalty so we keep the first 10 results free of potential 404's/site unavailable errors."
