Is it odd a PR6 page doesn't show in SERPS?

My title is "Blue Widgets" and i got a PR6 of six on the / page (root page) but yet NOTHING from my root page shows up when searched - i've gone to a depth of 1000 pages hehe.

Is this odd or should i try and re-balance the page?

I can LOOK for the page and see it however using the keywords i would hope people would see it doesn't show up.

What's on the page? Is there crawlable html text?

Bots need something to digest. If there's no/little crawlable content, (words), on the page, then it won't show up in the serps. Flash, too much graphic, not enough words, can cause that.

Sorry if this sounds simplistic, but have you made sure that you haven't put something like "bluewidget" in your title rather than "blue widget"?

And do you have an h1 headline containing "blue widget", or have you gone for an image?

Apologies if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs.

I've seen PR 7 sites hit by Florida and they're gone. Probably been another FL update tragedy.

I have a number of pr 6 sites that do not show up in Google since Florida.

I can't wait until Yahoo starts using Inktomi!

No, it is not odd...A lot of high PR pages do not make it after Florida.

For a matter of curiosity, how old are your sites that suffer missing index pages?

A weird observation is that those sites I rolled out before January 2003 (not 2004) are all OK. Some sites after that are ok while some are not. The oldest ones of mine that suffer missing index page for two keyword phrases are online on Feb 2003 last year.

The site is fairly new and when i do a direct search for my domain the google cache and results look great - it there isn't any garbly gook or anything messing up the title or keywords it is picking up.

I get lots of traffic for keywords regarding sub pages that have a pr0 so i find it odd that my main page - which gets spidered everyday doesn't show up for any SERPS - every entry from google goes to a sub page.

believe me, i like the traffic i get from pr0 pages, but thats very lite compared to the traffic i would get if i was listed for my principal targets. Were talking 1000 to 2000 queries a month for what i'm getting compared to 4 million+ that show up for my main target.

I'll keep tweaking, but i have yet to see my site show up on google for the high pr pages in any search results that have come through.
