I have a site that has been known to Google for many years and has PR8 on its home page. There are many outgoing links from across the site, but I cannot seem to find any back links from these linked pages on other sites? Why? Is this an indicator that I have been blocked from passing on PR? Is there any way to find out? My site still shows green bar on the Google version of dmoz directory and still shows lots of green on all pages of my own site so the page ranking is good across the site. ALso, is there a quicker way than scrolling down backlink lists, page by page, to look for backlinks from a particular domain? I am worried that site partners are not seeing proof of their Google links - although cached pages of my site confirm their links have been seen the last time the pages were indexed. Any advice very welcome. Thanks.

I had a similar case with an Alexa Top100 website with PR8. It belongs to a mighty web advertising agency *very well* known to Google. The owner also runs quite a bunch of other heavily visited content resources, to each of which there is a link in the site footer. NONE of those content sites got a single *registered* backlink from a mighty PR8 one, so it's pretty much the same way as it is with you. Plus their advertising partners also didn't benefit.
The suspicion is: Google *knows* that the links on this site probably belong to advertisers who paid for them which means *artificial* nature of PageRank transfer. So it just bans or considerably lowers pagerank values from that domain.
