Permanent Redirection and PageRank
Which is the best course of action?

 5:46 am on Nov 19, 2003 (gmt 0)

I have a site which has a PR4. I have another page which promotes the first page and has a PR3. I'm wondering whether it is better PR-wise to use a permanent redirection in .htaccess to move all requests for the second page to the first. Will PR transfer?

Is it better to increase the number of referring links to the second page and build it's PR and have it link to the first url and build PR for the target?

Hi there. ;) If a permanent redirect, PR should transfer. I'd go with the redirect.
