When will PR appear on new pages?
Does a site have to link my new pages first?

My homepage has a PR 6 and many of the existing pages are PR 4 thru 6.

Anyways, I created new pages a week ago and they have no PR yet. Does PR magically filter from my home page to the new pages or do sites have to link to these new pages which are three levels deep?

Thanks.
A noob

PR comes via links, whether from your own pages or other ones. Assuming you link to these pages, you should see PR in two to eight weeks, depending on what schedule Google updates it. Nothing is sure about the frequency of that these days.

Some people say next week.
Last pr update was one month ago.

From my experience you won't see any green bar for a very long time (8 weeks seems reasonable), though actual PR could be transferred earlier (showing by ranking).

Yea i would agree with dirkz, and would say that from a new page going up, getting it indexed, not just fresh tagged, and then waiting for a PR update, 8 weeks would be about right with Google's current cycle.

"When will PR appear on new pages?" It depends on what you means by "appear".

If you mean when will it show on the toolbar, it could be months. I have pages linked from a PR6 that were added on 8/1 and now 2 1/2 months later are still not showing any PR on the toolbar.

If you mean when will it have PR for search results (though not showing in toolbar), I believe it is about 2 weeks on the average. At least, that has been my expeience with pages linked from a PR6 page. I believe it is an 'estimated' PR. However, that 'estimated' PR does not seem to be passed on to other pages that it links to. It only seems to start passing PR after the PR shows on the toolbar.

If I get you right, LogicMan, the procedure is as follows:
1) GoogleBot registers new backlinks (this results in increase in what you get doing link:www.mysite.com search)
2) Only in 2 weeks these changes "come in force" i.e. start influncing your SERPs NOT visibly changing your PR in the toolbar.
3) Only in 2 1/2 months the links registered 3 mths ago are finally displayed in PR.

No, backlinks get updated at about the time TPR is updated, and even then you can't really rely on them. You won't see them for new links for quite some time (if at all).

Only in 2 weeks these changes "come in force"

This is highly dependent on how often the linking pages are crawled, that is PR and modification stamps.

So, does PR seep from my home page to my new pages? I don't have to get backlinks directly to new pages, right?

Ignore my last post. It's a repetition of my original post.
