Could have sworn I saw this discussed already .... So you have one site ... with lots of pages And you want to make another site with the same pages And link the pages together. Erm .. why? Or better question how is that of any value except to try to trick the engines. I have to say and no offence intended .. if I found that your site (promoted like this) was keeping one of mine from a page 1 listing then I would probably help the SE dirty tricks dept find them a bit quicker than they might by their own automated methods :-) My comment is not intended as offensive or anything .. but you say you have how many is it 130 or 130000 pages? If the second, how is it that you cannot organise the internals of one site to get ranking well for some of your target terms. How is it that with a site that big you cannot get significant inward linking from quality sites. If these pages are pages of quality content that people have some need for.. then I see little problem in developing and promoting the site as it is .. That you feel you need another 130000 page site to link to yours .. to get the exposure / ranking you want well it suggests to me that your site is quantity of pages rather than quality :-) I do wonder about the worth or value of your existing 130000 pages to internet surfers ... Would that be unfair or not?

This whole idea sounds like cheating to me. Also, this isn't what a doorway website is. A doorway website is one that is optimized for just one or several search terms. The doorway site has no real content of its own. Its sole purpose is to do well in search engines, and when people visit it they are lured to click a link to the real site.

The only reason I can think someone would take such a chance is because they want to use two different country domains, ie one as a .com and one as a .co.uk. Otherwise I think you are treading on thin ice and will pay with both domains being filtered out.

I think if you want to do it , just split the content. So have some content on one domain (relevant to the domain title), and some on another. Has worked for me in the past...

I think he should just do it. And while he is at it, make sure to have plenty of invisible links. Google really likes that. And I can recommend some far-out neighborhoods for him to link to, also. Hmm.. what else?

doesnt matter at all. it is just wasted time, you already have 130k pages, it does not matter where those other 130k pages are located you could have them on the same domain. your pages are worth nearly 0. but go ahead and do it if you feel better.

I don't believe that we should call something like this cheating. The idea is to get ahead of the competition sometimes it seems moral go out the window. I just don't believe morals and the concept of cheating should be considered. Instead let's focus on the real issue will it work? The answer is no. This form of linking simply won't work. Either Google will drop one site for having duplicate content or you'll have to wait an incredibly long time to see all the pages indexed, maybe your grandchildren will see the benefit. It is better to focus your time on building the site's interial linking structure and get links from other sites. If you really 130K pages of good content, then it should be really easy to encourage others who will see the benefit of your content to link to you.

It may not be called cheating, but what about being a bad citizen in general? If you've talked yourself into saying that creating doorways is not cheating, nor wasting people's time, fine, I just hope at least you'll need to stock up on Tums as you live with your decision.

I don't see how creating duplicate information with lot's of links would help PR? Won't all of those links just drain PR?
