What Can We Expect.

Can anyone give me an educated guess as to when we will see the next Google Deep Crawl for June and what can we expect to see?

Will the June Dance have the backlinks from the April and May crawl. I can't seem to find my backlinks anywhere! Are they lost or what?

Can we get an "official" change of the statement; "more than weeks, less than months" to "more than days, less than weeks"? :) Seriously, though, knowing that freshbot is now doing deepbot's job put a lot of us at ease. Thanks for the info GG!

Happy to try to help, mfishy. I ain't official no matter how you slice it, but I feel relatively comfortable saying less than weeks. If that changes, I'll let you know. As always, I'll try to be around to answer questions about what to expect.

Shouldn't we be adding at least the week or ten days extra that the last dance took to the interval between it and the next dance?

So even though it may have started on May 2nd, it really didn't finish until May 20th, which was only a little over three weeks ago.

<<I feel relatively comfortable saying less than weeks>>

Great, now we need to get the experts back to argue what whether less than weeks means one week or less or less than 2 weeks or... :)

Thanks for the unofficial word. :)

I have numerous opinions on specifically, what "less than weeks" means.

First of all, let's start with less, a Middle English term, with Indo-European Roots, meaning
Not as great in amount or quantity

Secondly.....

I think a see a light at the end of the tunnel. :)

Good to know that it's on its way anyhow. I just hope that it somewhat meets peoples hopes and expectations. There's a possibility that it won't be the great cure-all for the problems some have had and that there'll be distraught webmasters leaping from windows all over the planet a day or two after it starts propagating.

Update soon come, everyone... restock the bar and stay on the ground floor.

Thanks for the heads-up, GG. Your post should be quoted whenever anyone complains about you being impossibly cryptic.

"Why do you come here, when you know it makes things hard for me, when you go."

A little Smiths there :0)

I can only hope that with all the time that has passed the updtae will have all the current backlinks and data.

Less that weeks? I decipher that as 20 days max :)

I think there is still a way to go; mini dancing/freshies changed quite substantially last light in a couple of fields I pay attention to.
But alas most are old, even going back to December last year for some.
That was extremely disappointing to say the least, ...hey things are moving at last I thought, then realised backwords.

I'm not an expert on such stuff, but I transfered the contents of two of the sections of my webpage from subfolders to subdomains about a month ago. Between yesterday and today, google updated the URI for one of the sections. I checked the "last modified date" on the cached page and it was 11th June.

I have been anxiously awaiting the addition of backlinks myself. It has crossed my mind recently, as I am doing quite well as is, that I should be careful what I wish for.

Is it common for a new site to have its backlinks in and then lose them weeks ago and have not seen them since? Someone please advise. Thanks!

If the backlinks were new in Feb, then probably the disappearance was because of Dominic.

My thoughts exactly. I came through Dominic well compared to some; just hoping the next one is alright too. If the vanished backlinks and all the new ones show up, then bonus.

I just got 8251 Pages crawled by Googlebot. This page has only got 200+ Pages in the current Index. We changed all our dynamic content to modrewrite and now.. well, looks like a pretty deep crawl to me.

That would be less then weeks, Googleguy? Now lets wait until this data gets into the index with a nice little dance!

Am i the only one seeing that the crawl has been added back? Been getting new traffic all day. Pages back again that were lost last month and half. I tried to post this info this afternoon but it went straight to mod. I searched the rules and didn't see anything i did wrong. If i did something wrong, feel free to sticky mail me so i don't do it again.

I've got very weird stuff happening with my pages - 4 month old caches showed up this evening on dozens of pages, my total page count also dumped down to what it was about that long ago, old page titles showed up on the ones I had changed back in Feb and March. I hope this is prelude to something - I am feeling very queezy right at this moment.

Is there such a thing an "an educated guess" when we talk of the dance?

It has always been sporadic - not as bad as this but folk at Google must have a lot of laughs at the fora.

Perfectly normal behavior for Google. Wait somewhere between days, weeks, months, years and millenniums and Google may or may not decide to include the site permanently.

$1000 on number 25 hedged with $2K on red.....spin the wheel!

We all have this problem with new sites, and no one really knows when it will be resolved.

Welcome to WW, steve40.

The google dance is what happens when the update propagates across the various datacentres. Repeated searches for a kw on Google will give different serps depending on which datacentre you hit, thus the kw appears to be dancing around in the serps. You can find much more info on the dance by using the site search at the top of this page.

As of last night my original index page, (declared MIA after Operation Dominic) had returned to the SERPS. This is the first time I've seen it since Operation Dominic began. My updated version of the page has shown up courtesy of freshbot, but this is the first time the original page has turned up. Different. Interesting. Significant?

Well, I've been trying to ask this question for two days, but the forum won't accept the post as a new topic, so I'll ask it here since JoeHouse already brought up the subject:

Has anyone seen their missing backlinks return yet? I have hundreds of incoming links, they register fine on ATW and the others, but Google has me as a big fat zero links. Anyone else have their backlinks go missing, and if so, have you seen any of them return yet?

thanks,

Chris

Most people who post here appear to have lost backlinks and as far as I know, they have not returned yet.
After the next update things should be better.
