It goes to 993 for David, and I'm certain that I would be number 994. It's a tough fight when there are 49,000,000 pages containing David. I did spot two of my friends at #14 and #109, which ain't that bad.

It gets even worse - I went to find my profile in google - and typed in a phrase I was sure to be#1 - "larry page's bathroom" - And it isn't even #1, but a post about GoogleGuy spying on me. Now I know..... Thanks to marcia for trying to help me out with anchor text.

I am nowhere in sight for "Jen" either. I obviously need to start a blog! My nick isn't even at #1 - my profile came up #5 for "Jenstar". Hmmmm.... off to start a blog, so I can work my way up to #1 for the 2004 WebmasterWorld Ego Surfing Contest ;) <edit>I also went and checked under "Jennifer" - between Jennifer Lopez, Aniston and Love Hewitt, I would have to work too hard to get that number one spot! 47706 Overture count for Jennifer (801,875 at Overture for Jennifer Lopez!)</edit> [edited by: Jenstar at 6:48 am (utc) on June 4, 2003]

Gave up after 250 for my real first name, but then I haven't made an "ego site" yet. Search for "Monkscuba" brings up WebmasterWorld profile page No.1, and pretty much nothing but WebmasterWorld pages. Now, I was under the impression that the profile pages were not spidered..So maybe I should add my homepage and get that juicy PR6 (totally unrelated field) link?

With a name like mine of "john" and over 80 million results, do you think I'm crazy enough to dig that far for my name. Well, a few of you might think I am :) Hmm, Brett's way of getting our minds off of B.S. as of late and a nice diversion.

Optimizing for a name is also a brand recognition for SEO's IMHO. But clients search for Full name :) . I don't have my own Personal site as yet. It would be easy to optimize for Milind. However i am glad WW comes #1 for my nick. That's the way i wanted. Next job is to get those really thought provoking views of mine on the top and bring those newbie posts down in serps ;)

| mil2k, I don't have one either - I use to have one on geocities way back, when I use to have be in Skool [alumni.net] and on mIRC [mirc.com] :-) But for Umesh [google.com], I am still #452 :) coz of one of those link development efforts ;) And for Shaadi [shaadi.com], my nick - its such a common name in India, which means marriage or wedding, I still have my WW profile [webmasterworld.com] at #42.

Nickname: WW profile #1, only 5 not either WW or Zeal. First name: gave up after 200, the name is too popular in France, sharing it with politicians, comedians, directors,... Not even in the top 100 pages from Switzerland :( Full name at least in top 10 :). Anyways, I think hanan is the big winner. Brett, what's his prize? Another Platinum Geek Award?

I too don't have a personal site. So, On searching for first name : stopped searching after first 250 results. But, for my full name, I am on 1st 4 places and some more on Google. (I used to post some BBS messages (trade leads) and classifieds for my company. These are the ones that are appearing on these positions.) Well this has been a cool excercise with Google. Hey Brett, I am waiting eagerly for you to sort out questions for Googleguy. Are you still working on it?
