There have been sporadic reports this is happening with lots of domains. Can you find your site though via referrals and/or keywords? You are still in the index right, but just can't find it under the domain name?

Yes that's it exactly Brett. I'm stunned. I've been around long enough to know what not to do, I thought. I haven't even really optimized anything just built the site (ecommerce) with the intention of giving my customers as much information as possible yet keeping it simple. I can't understand what happened and it was just very recent as I checked this not too long ago. Just thought I'd add that we do still appear to have PR on our internal pages. This seems to just be showing for our Index page. Also we are still showing backward links at this time. Is this a glitch? A burp? Google please say excuse me. ;)

Actually you can find the main index page in kw searches. The only time you will not find the site is if you do a search on www.mydomainname.com it comes up now as not being in the index. This was not the case up to a few days ago to my knowledge. Also according to the PR bar I am greyed out now but only on the main index page.

Jill, something similar has happened to me over the past few days. Site can still be found via keywords, but when searching for (example) widget blodget (domain is widgetblodget.org) it's not showing up until page 6. Was number #2 on the first page until last night. Again, clean as a whistle, hundreds of backlinks (all on theme)... very frustrating and confusing but best to wait for a while until Google gets things sorted out. Oddly, it seems to of just popped up again on the SJ datacentre...

I am hoping it's a glitch. Could someone sticky me so I can give you my url so you can check the PR? I want to make sure that it's maybe just me but I don't think so.

I have had the exact opposite problem. google search ---> mysite.com ---> no results found google search ---> WWW.mysite.com ---> site is there no problem the problem is most users probably as a short-cut don't want to have to enter the 'www' just to find your site (if they were looking for it)

Scorpion, I have the same situation. It has been this way on and off since the update began. (My site is listed when searched www.mydomain.com but is not listed when searched mydomain.com. It is listed when searched by keywords.) I am not worried about it because when I check my competitors sites, 90% of theirs are doing the exact same thing. This makes me feel less worried in that I know I am not being singled out. I really think it's just another sign that the update is still in progress and has not resolved itself fully yet. Keep the faith!

Bumping this up in hopes that someone has heard something on this problem. I still show greyed out PR on my index page. Starting to worry now.

Jill, I am in a similar situation. My new Personal Home Page was #1 on my name search. That was yesterday, Today it is gone - entirely. Its PR has always (~2 months) been gray. Last month I got a link from PR6 site, and also linked it from my other site which had a few nice links of its own. Since it is not a commerce site, I am just wondering but not worrying. I feel bad for you though. I think it is quite irresponsible on Google's part to do such unpredictable things.

Still greyed out :( Does anyone have any more information as to why this is occurring?

vdlddd8379, I had the same issue. This morning I had a gray bar, I checked my competors and they had the same gray bar going on. I got nerves and checked ww to see what was going on and found this post. I checked my site again and my PR was back. Maybe google is updating their index in parts so that not all sections of the index are bad at any given time. Who know I've be confused for the past month or so.

Jill, Google is really messed up right now. Don't worry about the toolbar if you are still getting referrals from Google. From Googleguy when asked about PR 0 pages <<If you still have traffic coming from Google, I wouldn't worry about it. This has been reported before, and I think the next index would help with this. In the meantime, just don't worry about the toolbar.. >>

Cool that's good to know. And we are getting quite a bit of referals so I guess it's all good.
