Google Dancing - How deep does the googlebot go?

Bit of a googlevirgin so any help would be greatly appreciated! Anyone know how deep the googlebot goes?

I've done a fair bit of work optimising pages, changing the directory structure, tweaking keywords and sprinkling them liberally in the body etc, and was hoping for a good result in the google dance.

Didn't get one unfortunately.

Whilst the directory structure is fairly simple (url.com/directory/page), I suspect the problem is that these new pages are not linked from the home page but are linked from a page which itself is referenced from the home page. Looks to me like this dance has only looked at home page and then 1 further page in.

Anyone have the inside track on this?

I see the same thing. My index page and all pages directly linked to the index have been visited. All pages that are NOT linked to the index page, but are linked to the 1st level pages, have not been visited. Freshbot has no problem finding these.

Hoping its too soon to be worried....
