Looks like they may have done a new dmoz dump also.

Can anyone verify this? My 4/5 week old dmoz listing shows up in there.

I see a big difference on the -ex datacenter.

An additional 136 primo links are showing up!

Come on Cassandra!

Bokesch...Nah, watching the Google dance is much more fun than crack ;) I know it's happening because I have a brand spanking new site that has NEVER been indexed..and it's in there now :)

grifter, mack's got what's probably going on with your site. That's my guess.

davewray, glad that your site got indexed well! Don't forget to leave those session ID's out.. :)

GG...session ids? Sorry, I'm still relatively new to all of this! GG, I do have a question. Because my site has never been indexed..how long can I expect it will take before my page shows backlinks and a PR value? Thanks!

No, we all have our own various habits and while I'm sure someone here is on crack, others may be on ecstacy, heroin, alkeehall, cough syrup, and maybe even the reefer.;)

<added>Brett, if you could add a red eyed smiley face for those of us that may or may not be on the latter, that would be cool.</added>

any signifance with the www-ex? is it a preview of the coming update or it is needed to compute by their algo against the other data center?

any theory, (conspiracy or not) or false hope on this?

It usually takes a few days to settle down. If you don't know what a session ID is, don't worry about it. :)

::::Don't forget to leave those session ID's out.

BINGO! My vBulletin site had less than 20 links, then I dumped the session ID part of the URL, then it went to 1870 links after the dance a month ago, then the freshbot took it up to 3,550 during the lasty week and a half, and this dance took it to 7,410. If Google ever ends up giving me too many visitors then I might have to put the session ID back in! The Googlebot almost crashed it once while chomping away at the links!

GG...well, I must say, it's been an honour talking to you. Believe it or not I only started building my site just two months ago! And I see that 80 of 90 pages have been indexed..thanks! Another newbie question here. I tried doing a search for my site in www-ex.google.com for my keywords and phrases and can't find my site in the top 200...is this yet another thing that can change as the "dance" resumes? :) Thanks!

Unfortunately, if the –ex data center is representative of the dance, then several big time spammers with duplicate sites in my industry actually were able to add links.

Oh well, may next time!

GG,

If you're still hanging around, would you take a stab at message #132 in this thread (also from me)
For that matter, anyone willing to take a stab at it, it would be appreciated. The root index page going missing from www-ex has me puzzled since other pages have been added, and it's only missing like 33% of the time, so far, in the www-sj version

Well I'm rather annoyed. A site I develop for a client has been given the white bar of death for no apparent reason. It was a grey bar up until now because of no incoming links.

The worst part is it is not even optimised, let alone spamming! It doesn't even include any heading tags because it was developed prior to me becoming a regular here. This page is as clean as you can get, and definately no links from me to penalised sites.

This sucks.

BTW I am seeing 661 on the main www.google.com server from Australia.

Newbie here! How can I check my PR? I am seeing decent results for a couple of my keywords on -ex, but I have no clue how I check the "new" PR.

Please help! I'm tired and want to go to bed..but won't sleep unless I can have a hint of what my PR will be.

Thanks...Laura

The site is only getting a 10 visitors a month too - 100% from google. It's just one that I was going to try and optimise this month. So much for that.

kevinpate, I have the same situation as you, I believe we are penalized-- it happened to our same site about 5 months ago, the index goes, all your remaining page's PR fade away over a month or two. It is depressing to watch, trust me.

The worst part is, I thought we were back full force, PageRank was above zero last month, we fixed our Search King problem months ago, and our backward links on www-ex show 1580 this month over 142 last month, over 0 the month before.

In the results for searching on the site name, however, now interior pages come up first. The main page is blown away. You should check your new PageRank, I bet the index is gray and the rest still has some.

Back to the reinclusion request, only to hear back that I don't know what I'm talking about from Google. Even with 1580 links, our page should have a 0 PageRank.

Good luck.

Im seeing many of my sites that had PR0 last month for crosslinking (i think-- although google said nothing was penalized...) are not at any PR this time around and others obtained PR back. So far can't quite pin the situation :D

My 1996 site that lost about 100 links last update seems to have them back and then some. I hope it sticks.
