Roger that, I agree that onunload (exit) popups DO NOT have a negative effect on Google SERP's.

Yes, google considers them a bad tactic. But it appears that they do not penalize you for them. (yet)

Yes, they are bad. Your AdamsRank is now 0/10. I don't know if they penalize for it, but they obviously don't like it. They have a "Suppress the onUnload JavaScript event" feature in the Toolbar options, so they must find the at least as annoying as I do (or did, thanks to the Toolbar).
