I have been searching for a few thoudsands time and today is the first time I see a server error message.

Server Error
The server encountered a temporary error and could not complete your request.
Please try again in a minute or so.

Is it because too many people are checking their new site ranking with the new updated index? :)

Yahoo, Google, AOL all back up in Southern US now. However they went back after having the updated results all morning long to showing the old results.

WOW.
do a search using the toolbar and everything is cool.
search using the search box and google throws back the error message.
So for the time being use your toolbar search!
god knows why.
Google, get better fast!

This is going to be a big news story if they don't get back up quickly. I can image that Yahoo is wondering about the switch to ink right about now.

When searching on some news-keyword (i.e. Iraq), the SERP only news showed a few lines with news, followed by an error. Image search is also no problem.

I stand corrected. looks like at least one of the datacenters is down. that's why sometimes it works and sometimes not due to the load balancing of google across its datacenters.

Check the data centers. Right now, www-va, www-ab and www-ex work. www-cw, www-dc and www-in are down. A few minutes ago, all but www-ex timed out or sent a server error.

I don't buy that.. I can't seem to search with the toolbar? (AFAIK it does the same GET as the form?)

You must be kidding me...NOW, adwords work fine and I get this from the results area:

"Your search - war and peace - did not match any documents.

Suggestions:
- Make sure all words are spelled correctly.
- Try different keywords.
- Try more general keywords.
- Try fewer keywords.
Also, you can try Google Answers for expert help with your search."

You must be kidding me :(

Not even the Google error screen now... timeout:

"The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings. "
