Don't worry the update is on. I think like said before there are some technical difficulties being resolved. We should see it back up in no time.

Hey GG -- If you're around.. I'd sure love to know how many queries a second are being executed for "link:www.yahoo.com" right now. :)

It's interesting how we sit here and watch the update as it unfolds, second by second.. while the majority of internet users are out there have no idea what's going on, and this has no impact on their lives, or very little. "Uhh.. who's updating what, you say?"

It's back and OMFG THE SPAM IS OBSCENE! I could spend the next few days just writing spam reports. I'm talking single keyword search here (early in the update, I know) and a good 15 of the top 30 are spam/deeplinked spam... /sigh

This was a good update for one of my PR4 sites.. previously had 2 backlinks, now at 34, and some of those are from the site itself, which means the subpages have at least PR4, and the index probably went to PR5. The downside is I'm stuck in suspense because I happen to be on a computer where the Toolbar PR display doesn't function properly. Now I've gotta wait at least half an hour before I can see.

daroz, the main change for this month was better handling of expired domains, but we'll definitely check it out if you send in a spam report. Hope people enjoy the update; I think we've got better coverage of dynamic urls this time, too. Let me know how well we crawled your sites.. [edited by: GoogleGuy at 4:19 am (utc) on Mar. 7, 2003]
