A spider would have to find your site by following a link from another site, and index you that way. It may take awhile for this to happen, but I've heard through the grapevine that some engines will give you a higher ranking if they find you without a submission...

IMHO one of the great tricks to search engine promotion is to have a 'devil may care' attitude and not act like you are really urgently trying to succeed. How zen. Bolot
