I've had good luck luck submitting pages monthly for the past two years or longer.

PROPERLY USED, submission software can help if you have more pages then you can submit by hand. DumpTruck is very inexpensive, does the job, and doesn't invite penalties from the SEs, recommended for beginners, and used by many pros.

Most people that get into trouble, especially beginners, do so by over submitting. 5 URLs per 24 hour period per engine from the same IP continues to work well for me.

There are many other discussions on this topic in this forum, the one at [webmasterworld.com...] is fairly recent, dig around a little!

Hi I use addweb to submit to more SE but I take out the top8 because there you need to submit manualy.
I have the experience that its good to wait at least one week befor you submit the same url once again.(That means doorway pages)

Thank's guys.

I've another question for you. Four months ago, when i published the site i submitted the url to some search engines 2 times per day also!! i was wrong, but i did not mean! i did that in lycos, google and exite. right now i'm in google, but not yet in others two. 2 days ago i resubmitted my urls to lycos and exite. do you think i still have a chance to be indexed by theyr spider?? i hope so!!

About the software: in my first post i omitted somethimg important: i'm from italy, so i'm firstly interested in ita SE. are the software you mentioned suitable for italian SE as well?

Thank's one more time

I don't think submitting your site twice four months ago would get you in trouble as they have filters to eliminate duplicates. Soemtimes those engines take 4-6 months to index new sites :).

In regards to wanting to submit to one SE in particular, why not just do it by hand (unless you have 1000's of URL's). There is one pice of software called topdogg that does submit to foreign search engines. Whether they submit to the one in question I'm not sure. However, if you write to them they have been known to add search engines to their software upon request.

I think it really depends on the engine.

Google: submit the root index page and forget about it forever.
Alta : submit the pages as you can until fully indexed, then wait 90days and do it again.
Excite : potluck - keep trying once a month.
Ink : risky to submit anything to Ink these days.
Fast : submit the root and forget.
Northernlight : resubmit once every 90-120 days.

What else is there? Not much else to be concerned about anymore. Directories, once you are listed - you are listed.
