Domain Names Forum

me again-now i need help picking the right domain name
i use english as a second language so i need help

 9:34 pm on Apr 17, 2002 (gmt 0)

sorry i'm bombarding you guys with so many questions.
now i wanna pick a good name. my site will sell telephony services(long distance, phonecards etc) and i was thinking of sth like "callingdeals.com" or "callingsomething.com".
i'm not sure if this is correct in English. Maybe i should pick "calldeals" instead of "callingdeals". obviously i noticed that most domains that use "callingsomething" are usually available. so, i'm thinkin-maybe there's sth wrong with them. still i would prefere CALLING. i really need your help on this, someone english or american.
thank you much.

phonecards.xxx ;) You can take any site and put it together well enough it doesnt even matter of the domain name, however when i search for calling cards on the net i search for low cost calling cards and calling cards + rates ;) I never search the net for long distance providers though ;)

I would use "calling cards" to describe the product before I'd use "call card," so I'd say you're on the right track with choosing a name with "calling" in it.

i see your point and i agree to some extent. however, what i really wanna know is if "callingdeals" or "callingwhatever" is a correct phrase.if it sound right in English.

dan, these forums are crawling with guys in the long distance affiliate business... many more read here than post. Having-seen-some-of-the-calling-card-domain-names being used, I truly doubt that there is a first quality English domain that isn't already taken. I like "calling" too, and "callingwhatever" is a correct phrase, but I think you're going to be in for a long hunt.

Try overtures keyword suggestion program, I typed in calling card and found a lot of nice examples for what people search for. Also for LD i found a few results.

How about just "callingU" if it's available.
After all the title and description are of much greater relevance in your likely placement than the domain name.

AM I being silly in asking .... Why not the name of the company?

I'd go with "phone card", there seem to be more searches for this than "calling cards". I just did a 5 min search and these are still available:

If you want to see what domains currently exist with Phone Card [whoisreport.com] in it, I count exactly 1,959 of them. Calling Card [whoisreport.com] has exactly 894 domains. Looks like a pretty crowded area. I think your best bet is to purchase one of the existing good ones that someone has for sale. They all can't be in use or be asking to much for it.

I guess worst case senerio, you make up a new name, like ariolphonecards.com
