Does .net make sense for your business i.e is your site about a network of widgets? Could it grow into a network of widgets one day? or is net meaningless? In the uk .co.uk's (2nd level .uk's not allowed) are found advertised quite often. I can't remember when I last saw a .net advertised in the non computer press, most days we see .com .co.uk .tv and sometimes .info

no .net is not important but also the site is not just for US people either..... so buying .us does not serve the purpose. Furthermore .co.uk in not available and neither is .info. I havent checked .tv as yet..will do so immediately. thanks for your help guys.

IMO, if both are available grab both. If your company is a success though you will NEED the .com eventually.

very true but both are not available now (my mistake, should have bought it earlier). With the advise over here i have picked up the.net though which seems good enough for now and will keep on looking and if things wok out will do a 301 to a new domain by shifting the business to new domain. Regards Nick
