Well according to a NZ Domain register Unlike .NZ and .com, there are some restrictions on who can register a .au domain name. The most important eligibility criteria is that you must be an Australian registered entity – generally one of: * An Australian registered company (ACN / ABN) * Trading under an Australian registered business name * A foreign company licensed to trade in Australia * An owner of an Australian registered Trade Mark * An applicant for an Australian registered Trade Mark Do you meet one of the above criteria?

don't think you can mate. need to have a abn or state business number at least to register .com.au's your best bet would be to contact someone in au to register on your behalf then rent it off them. heh only way i see you getting one / be able to use one.

You may have to at the very least register a trademark in Australia, and then various registrars can probably register the domain for you. See [auda.org.au...] for a list of accredit registrars for the AU domain
