Yup, and only one of the two sites is up so far - but it is a huge leap from what they had under the Taliban.

Read about it in the morning :) Their servers are currently located in NY as they admitted they are not trained well enough to run servers yet. So time for more schooling then IT will be a hot job spot in Afghanistan :)

I believe they're planning on selling off some second hand tanks and army surplus hand grenades. And I wonder how long it will take someone to try and sell them submission to 900,000 search engines for $19.99 per month.

As far as the selling the search index submission thing goes... Some company has been going through my portfolio and emailing each one of my clients via their contact pages with the "I noticed your site is not listed on some search engines" email. Anyone else have this happen by this one company in particular (that includes a screenshot of each site they are submitting stuff to)?

I see that one on a regular basis, DXL. Prepare a speech to handle customers who call about it, because it won't be the last time it happens. Lets just hope the spammers veer away from the Afghani site though. It'd be a shame to have the country's first real interaction with the internet get tainted by a scam.

Mivox >I see that one on a regular basis Yeah, I expect we all do. I explain 'all that' to my clients when I sign them up, they laugh when they get the spam. korkus2000 >Needs some help with the sidescroll I thought of mailing them and inviting them down here, but thought it might look like spam. :+0 Does anyone know if there are many countries in the world with internet access/presence restricted?

| many countries in the world with internet access/presence restricted?.. |
| All of the Communist countries do, not sure about others. Iran for sure - and I am sure several other countries in that region also do. Several European countries censor it, especially anything to do with Nazi subjects.
