I have a content site that is 10 years old, very establsihed in google, ranks well. I make revenue serving adsense and am now starting to find some of my own advertisers. The problem I have is : The one advertiser I have taken on is UK based and only wants his ads shown to UK visitors.
While thats simple enough to do I am just worried about a possible negative impact on Google. Basically all that will happen is people in the UK will see exactly the same page as anyone else see's except they will also see a few adverts for UK visitors. I guess google wont see the adverts because they crawl from US IP's.
Funny thing is this is exactly what google does with adsense - they serve differnt ads depending on where u are in the world - so logically I know it should be okay but I dont wantto take any chances.
Anyone got any experience with this kind of stuff?
Google bots and visitors from the usa will see no ads while UK bots and UK visitors will see the ads. Its done using a IP databse to determine where the visitors are coming from. Other than the ads all the content, tags , etc are the same.
