What's the best way to cloak?
or how to cloak and not drive the SEs nuts...

Ok, first i'd like to say hi to everyone here...

I've been reading for a while about cloaking and heard here and there that there are somes ways you can cloak your site without getting banned so i'd like some advices from you guys on that...

For example, i heard that to play the legit way you must:

1) NOT redirect your visitors to some other web site

2) NOT use a cloaked page filled with "sex keywords" just to drive more traffic to your "mountain bike" site.

3) Have very little difference between the spider optimized page and the browser page made for visitors.

In other words, you take your highly optimized page, remove some paragraph and kws here and there inside and use that modified page as the browser page that everyone will see so that even if a code jacker copies it he will be ranked 100th or more because of the missing code you took off.

So far that's what i learned... anything i left here before i jump in that game?

I want to play legit here but will the SEs see that or is it still too risky to play that way with my main domain and go register some extra domains and start play dirty even if i don't want to?

I don't want to spam but just protect my code that's all so what the best way to cloak here?

Also, anyone here used AIR's cloaking script (ICS) and got banned because a spider found them that was not inside their botbase?

You see i want to go with AIR's version but many people told me to go with Fantomaster instead since their botbase is a lot larger...any advice and that too?

A big thanks,

I think you have a pretty good grasp of the issues. It really is all about your comfort level when it comes to risk.

here is an old thead that covers some more points.
