Hello antibob, and welcome!

Have a peek at your sticky mail ...

BTW, just so that this thread may be of help to someone else that comes along; a search for "free cloaking" at Goooooogle will return some useful results.

You do all realize you could have just clicked on the stickymail icon next to Air's name, and sent him a stickymail asking for info, rather than filling up a thread with "me too" posts...

"...You do all realize you could have just clicked on the stickymail icon next to Air's name, and sent him a stickymail asking for info, rather than filling up a thread with "me too" posts..."

perhaps, but a little too intrusive in my opinion since he offered to sticky a participant in the first place.

However, if he doesn't mind having his mailbox filled up with requests, then...

volatilegx,

correct me if I am wrong. Wasn't there a link to metacloaker?

And where did the site go? Wasn't it at metacloaker.com?

I think I am getting old...

Many cloaking script authors have pulled their scripts from the market. There are easier ways to make money. Really, these days I have to believe that only those tech savvy enough to write one should attempt to use one.

>only those tech savvy enough to write one should attempt to use one.

That could sound a bit harsh at first read, having said that for 2003 that is a great piece of advice.

I would like to write one for asp.net but I want to make sure i cover everything properly otherwise it will not be as effective. I believe Air gave me one to look at that was writen in asp about a year ago. It realy was based around redirect. But im not sure that is the best method.

No, using redirects is definitely not the best approach. You want to pre-screen before you give content, think of it as a web equivalent of caller ID.

Many cloaking script authors have pulled their scripts from the market.

I have seen this as well. I still believe that a cloaking campaign can be run by a non-programmer and have success. I know lots of people who do it :)

However, it does pay to understand the risks involved and be prepared to accept them. There are things you can do to protect yourself and your website(s) from an overzealous SEO campaign. I don't know if this thread is the place to discuss them...
