Is there an equivalent for .htaccess in IIS 5.0 ??

If not, how do I ban IPs and bots ?

Thanks in advance as always :)

You can block IP addresses in IIS by using the Internet Information Services Manager.

From within this Tool, right-click on the Website you wish to configure, Select properties from the menu that appears, from the resultant multi-tab window, select Directory Security, then click edit in the IP and Domain Name Restriction section.

Here you can exclude or grant access to your website to specific IP addresses.

And people are continually raggin on IIS. I find situations like this much easier in IIS than *nix.

Also, permissions are much easier in IIS for CGI files. You don't have to CHMOD any files.

I've actually had perl scripts up and running faster in IIS.
