I have a domain name I would like to develop and I am not sure what kind of software to use. I was thinking of using maybe a forum system such as the one this site is based upon or maybe vbulletin. The site will be an auction feedback system for those who feel that the present auction system feedback is inadequate to express the true nature of the auction situation that has transpired. You will just place in feedback section "see auction number..."
I would like to stay away from something with a database like vbulletin because I think the pages could eventually get into the millions if it proves a popular site. Maybe I will have to go with a system such as vbulletin though for the search capability needed.
Ether that or have something custom written but there is no budget for that at this point. I could spend a few grand but that would be about it, plus I would like to save that until after I see if this will fly first.
I currently have some situations going with some feedback I need to leave soon and I want to launch this site on these fine sellers feedback.
I like the forum concept so as to allow a place for an explanation from the sellers if they chose to respond in public to what I am going to place online about how they have acted (the whole idea here actually) Sellers will get an email invitation to explain their side of things. Usernames will be the auction IDs of the individuals concerned.
I may just go with vbulletin for now if I can find someone who can custom write a really light weight (fast) forum template.
