E-mail subscription program

 5:51 pm on Dec 4, 2002 (gmt 0)

I currently use a simple cgi script to process a subscription form; the end result is I get an e-mail with the subscribers e-mail address. Simple, but I'm getting more and more traffic and the subscribers are overwhelming me.

Could anyone recommend a program that could automate the process, by creating a database and handling the removes etc?

Any suggestions appreciated,

You could use an ASP/PhP page instead of the CGI form. This would allow your emails to be written directly to a database. (You can still get an email if you want).

You would also have to configure your mailserver to read the database file for the mailing list, rather than maintaining the list in the mailserver program itself.

It wouldn't be a difficult job.

William Bontrager at WillMaster.com offers a number of highly regarded scripts that can automate your mail handling.
