Welcome to WebmasterWorld thepunter! My hosting service includes a pretty complete mail list manager so I have no recommendations, only a couple suggestions. I saw a discussion recently about Post Office [web-consult.com] which may meet your needs. Unfortunately, no one in the discussion had first hand experience with it.
Another suggestion is to dig thru Script Search [scriptsearch.com]. They have over 5000 scripts listed, many are free.

Thanks Dave Postmaster looks promising. I just to to see if it allows sending atachments. Thanks for the welcome to the forum also. I am glad I found it. It is good to have place like this to share webmaster tips etc. There seem to be a lot of experienced webmastrs in here. Hopefully I may learn a thing or to but at the same time contributing where I can. All the best Mick
