Hmmmm,
In my error logs, i noticed that i get plenty of missing files pointing to favicon.ico.

Does that mean that people try to find this file by entering an url like www.mysite.com/favicon.ico
or am i missing some file?

It's not the first time that i notice favicon.ico on websited. What is it good for?

Any ideas?

Paully

Here is a page I quickly found. Perform a site search on "favicon.ico", it has been discussed many times before.

Belgian Guy,

The favicon error is caused by someone that has bookmarked your website via IE.

IE is looking for a 'custom' icon, when it can't find one...it's shows an error

It's not a 'bad' thing...it's actually quite good. The more bookmarks..the better.

Many browsers added support for this little bugger, not just IE. Some are even requesting it on single visits, not just when they bookmark the page.

An error logfile filled with this one is normal.
