2Checkout: Experiences?

 12:43 am on Feb 15, 2005 (gmt 0)

Any recent experience using them?

Heres how I do it.

I start 9/10 ventures with a 3rd party processor like 2C0. As soon as the venture proves itself, I setup a WELLS/AUTH.net system and never look back.

Bottom line is 2CO allows you to go live and test projects on the fly. On the flipside, 2checkout has the worst business practices and customer service I have ever encountered. By far, absolute worst.

Their customer seemed okay to me when I used them. They seem very diligent about fraud and I've always been able to get through to customer service. Sometimes their 800 number would hang up on me. Your experience may vary.

I second Import Export's opinion. However, our experience was more than 3 years ago and I heard that their service has improved since then. It seems that retailers who sell downloadable products are quite happy with it.

Used them in 2003 took 3 months to get the cheque despite being told it was in teh post! Paid $75 for their ATM card which their verification system wouldnt verify so I couldnt use it.

Others have had trouble with them as well.

Their direct deposit system worked pretty well, got my payments on time.

But I don't like 3rd party processors so I ditched them for Auth.net.

I also agree with ImportExport. Start with 2co, later on get a merchant account.
