I am glad that finally we Indians have a way to pull money out of PayPal. From PayPal:

The currency of your check will depend on your country of residence.
Members in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Ecuador, Jamaica, or Uruguay will receive their check denominated in US Dollars
Members in India will receive their check denominated in Indian Rupee

Hi all,

I am having a few doubts now regarding paypal.

I have written an ebook and want to sell it online. I think PayPal seems like the cheapest option.

1). In india, when we open an account in paypal, will they require my customers to sign-into paypal before paying? Because somebody told me that if you are in US or Australia and get a paypal account, it doesn't require users to sign-in before paying, and that they implemented this scheme a few months earlier or something.

2). Also I am confused if I should go for a Premium or Business account. I am an individual wanting to sell that ebook and I don't own any company. Also, I don't have a credit card so I made an agreement with one of my friends that I will use his credit card and pay the amount in cash to him immediately. Now, in paypal, which account should I choose so that my customers see either my name (stanley lyndon) or (stan) in their credit card bills?

3). Also, is remit2india legal if I initiate payment from within india?

If all these turn out well, all my problems would be solved. I would be very grateful if you can clear all of my above doubts. Thanks a ton!

Stan.

You don't need to have a Credit Card for creating PayPal account. Don't open an account in your friend's name.

A) Simply, Open an account in any indian bank (If you don't have) and Opening a savings account will be eaiser than getting credit cards.

B) Open a PayPal account in your name (The Last name should match the name which is in your bank accoubt exactly).

C) Give your E-mail Id for PayPal account. This is the email will be used for paying amount.

D) Peopls pay to this E-Mail Id and the amount will be credited to your account automatically.

E) You can withdraw amount by requesting a cheque from PayPal.

F) Give the cheque to your local bank and the amount will be credited to your bank account and now, you can withdraw your amount.

3). Also, is remit2india legal if I initiate payment from within india?

I think you can't intiate your payments within India.

Dongan

Hello All,

I have received 2 cheques from PayPal without any problems. I received the first cheque within 25 days and the second one within 14 days.

I am really happy...

Dongan.
