PayPal Suffers First Major Outage
PayPal closed for maintenance yesterday.

PayPal was down for a while yesterday, but before they were they had problems.

I had 3 orders/payments yesterday totaling about $350 for that they never kicked an email out for (yes the email address works/fine).

Now they have a problem with their refresh on the withdraw form. If you select a different bank account than the first in the drop-down list, it will always refresh back to the first. Tried in both IE and Netscape 7.1.

Contacted them about the issues and of course have not heard back. Just sounding off is all...

Also, I have a merchant account etc. just the purchasers of these particular item(s) chose PayPal over my other payment options 90% of the time...

Paypal say that things are now returning to normal, but I still can't select an alternative account in the dropdown list when I want to do a withdrawl. It still just jumps back to the one at the top everytime.

Just in case you haven't thought of it already...

One short-term hack you can use is to change your primary account so that the account that you'd like to use appears first in the list. Just access your Profile, select accounts, and switch any of your secondary accounts over to your primary account... will do the trick until they fix the larger issue.

I actually managed to do it by disabling JavaScript in my browser! hehe. The transaction is showing as completed so it seems to have been processed ok.

I just checked and they do now appear to have fixed the problem. It's only taken them a week! Funny how they fixed all the problems that prevented them getting peoples money first! hehe

Hahaha, Paypal listened and will give a fee free day 10/28/2004 - ALL DAY! :) Its a good PR move for minimal investment. If Paypal was really genuine in their concern for customers fee free day would be on a Sunday when the eBay.com and Paypal.com is most busy.
