Enter-Return Key, Forms & Internet Explorer
How to stop the form from being sent when hit

 10:17 pm on Aug 23, 2001 (gmt 0)

I have a number of forms on my site and whenever someone using Internet Explorer hits the enter-return key instead of the tab key it sends the form, usually it's only partially filled out. Is their some code I can use to stop it from sending?

Hello bub,

Like me I see you're new here, but I can still welcome you to the forum!

I don't know of any way to change this behavior.

One work-around is to make a field near the bottom of your form "required" using JavaScript. This will stop the form from being submitted until the field is filled in. Use an "alert" to inform the user to try again.

Is this a FrontPage form?
