No, this isn't from Jakob! It's a nice provocative interview with usability pro Jared Spool. In it, he deconstructs some of the sacred cows of web usability.

...when we actually compared the usability of sites to their download times, we didn't see any correlations. None, zero, zip.

And on e-commerce research:
our recent work on categories vs. search showed us that customers are more likely to keep shopping when they use categories and purchase more when the use categories
