In IE: Tools Menu > Internet Options > General Tab > Temporary Internet Files > Delete Files Also check the "Delete all offline content" box in the pop-up window to get everything. I always use this "Delete Files" method and it clears everything in a matter of seconds!

You might consider reducing the amount of space allowed for the cache as well. Should be a slider under Control Panel/Internet Options/Settings - set that sucker to 5mb or at most 10mb.... [Um. I don't EVER remember having a "clear cache" op take this long, even in the days when I had ZERO idea about stuff. You might consider running a couple of different AV program scans, as well as spybot, hijackthis, etc....]

I run a lot of different programs that store temp files in that directory. That's why it is so high. Though there was an easier solution. CompWorld

Get a copy of BCwipe ..open the index.dat to be sure it's the URL one ( not the other ) ..if it is tell it Wipe .. pass .. It will tell you it can't because the file is in use but do you want to try any way ..you say yes ..take you about 10 minutes ... there's a free prog that will clear all temp files very fast ..but it does leave your .dat intact though ... Its called Cleanup ...you find it here [cleanup.stevengould.org...] freeware ..no spyware etc in it ..easy config
