Video Resolution sacrifice, Function or Design?
Query about Resolution standards

 5:33 pm on Jul 15, 2004 (gmt 0)

I am trying to figure out what video rez to design a site against.

I fix a lot of friends computers and every time I sit down I am looking at 800x600 or at best 1024x768

I am currently building a site and there are space/content issues.

The users that will be shopping this site are plain old, mom's and dad's and users that probably won't have high rez settings but the look suffers when I look at the site at such low rez. The good news is everyone elses site looks worse too.

What do you design for?

I design for 800x600, still looks like about 37% of people still use that res according to thecounter.
