Popups for an Image - How can I amke them?

I am producing a site for a clien. He happens to be a tradesman and would like to have images of the work he has produced on his site.

I have put thumbnails on the page and would like them to link to a larger version of the image in a popup window that can be neither resized, nor allow access to the control functions of the browser.

This way when the user is bored of the image, they can close the popup and not have to use the back button to return to the previous page.

How can I do it?
Any ideas?

Thank's
