Has anyone encountered this with Netscape? These two pages are one and the same :

widgets.com & widgets.com/index.html

One shows fine while the index.html shows a blank(white)screen, yet they are the same page. Any suggestions? TIA

ps I went to view source on the white sceeen and get :

<html><body></body></html>

No, I've never seen that, unless it was happening with all browsers -- and that would be a server config issue.

What version of Netscape?

UPDATE:
A little behind the scenes work (the browser was NN 7.1) pinned down the problem to a third party javascript call for stats purposes. We still don't know exactly why the problem was there exactly, but it's fixed now.

to start with,
widgets.com and widgets.com/index.html are the same page.
if you don't specify a page, ie widgets.com , then your index.html is what will display.
I don't understand what other page you are referring to.

just my rant,

We had exactly the same problem on our site, but just like you were saying we had it clear itself up when we made some other changes to the Hml.

Do we know why? Nooope. But in future if there are problems like that I think we will just make changes to the code until it magically fixes itself!
