What is the easiest way to upload the site I've created in GoLive to my clients computer so he can host the site himself. Wouldn't he have to submit the site to the search engines himself or could I still do that? Please help.

thanks

does your customer have good knowledge of server software maintenance and security?

do they have a fast enough connection to host a site themselves?

i would have thought if the answers to these are yes, then you could just compress the site files and email them across - they should have the knowldge to sort things out from there.

I use a host who provides the server for me, which is what he would do. He doesn't have any knowledge about servers, security, etc. Do you have any suggestions.

thanks

if he/she is not actually hosting themselves, then the issues of security etc are not so important - the hosts admins will take care of that.

you will need to teach them about ftp so they can upload the files.

delivering the actual site to your client is up to you - you could batch it up into a compressed archive and email, or put it up on some webspace so they can download it, or give it to them on a disk - whatevers easiest.
