ALT attribute
ways to find img tags with missing alt's

 10:41 pm on Jan 14, 2003 (gmt 0)

Does anyone know of any utilities out that would detect any IMG tags
on a web page that does not have an ALT attribute?

Does dreamweaver have some kind of detection tool?

You can run it through the html validator at [validator.w3.org...] It always tells me if I have missing ALT tags.

There is one that will do it. 508 Accessibilty Suite which is an extension. I cannot find the direct link right now but it is out there

CSE htmlvalidator is excellent.

If you run Dreamweaver you should be able to find them also. Use the advanced search options to find all img tags that have no alt attribute.

This site checks both Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 and the U.S. Section 508 Guidelines. If your site scores high enough there is even a small icon you can display on your site to tell the world how good you are.
