Has anyone noticed that the HTML Writers' Guild homepage at [hwg.org...] does not validate correctly. There are a few (relatively minor) errors even though it displays the validation logo.

This seems to be a bit hypocritical to me or at least a bad example.
(I am also not sure what the point of joining this guild is - does being in the guild somehow make you a good HTML writer?).

Yep it sure does seam a little strange :)

I also noticed it is a PR9 so i gues it gets a huge amount of traffic. Sometimes websites that have very high traffic take measures to enable pages to load faster and use a few less "k" when doing so. Although to be honesy this doesnt apear to be the case in this instance. It just looks like genuine errors. They really shouldent have left the WC3 logo linking to theiir actual validation page though... That makes it look a lot worse.

Well spotted.

A lot of the various HTML tutorial web sites also do not validate!

On a related note, have you noticed that (it seems to me) 99% of the JavaScript tutorials on the web do not include the type="text/javascript" attribute in the <script> tag of any of their examples?
