As a webmaster, view source has always been in constant use as I surf the net comparing HTML and the likes ....but for some inexplicable reason it has become disabled ....it does not happen anymore. Does anybody know how I can get it back, I miss it so much ....Gee

Hi gee - Welcome to WmW! I'm a NS user, old habits die hard! In the M$ support pages, I frequently see articles like "after installing XXX, YYY no longer works. The solution is..." If you recently installed any software or upgrades to Windoze, I suggest you start looking here.

If not, my best suggestion is to reinstall IE, and if that doesn't fix it, reinstall Windoze. Remember, we're not M$ support specialists here. Free advice is worth what you pay for it and little more :)

I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago - in my case it ended up being a virus that had corrupted my notepad program. you might try reinstalling notepad and checking the windows file associations.

Hmm...I'm assuming of course that you already tried Tools > Internet Options > Programs and selecting something for the HTML editor. If you find notepad in the dropdown menu, you're all set. If not, have a look at this article [support.microsoft.com] from the MS Knowledge Base which talks about file associations like Marshall_Clark suggested.

If this works and you don't want notepad for your editor - simply rename notepad.exe in your windows directory (usually C:\WINDOWS) to something like notepad.ex0, copy your favourite program into your c:\windows directory and name your copy of your editor of choice "notepad.exe" :D
