xhtml validation - how to handle valign

 11:23 am on Dec 24, 2005 (gmt 0)

so, after ironing out various little errors in the xhtml formation, im stuck with the last and only error, which im unable to find a workaround for.

basically, i am using <td valign="top"> (yes, i still use tables) for a navigation block, which apparently isnt valid xhtml.
obviously, on removal of the valign attribute the nav block is forced down to the middle somewhere, which obviously isnt where i want it.

so, im wondering if theres some html and/or css fix for this?

Add this to your styles for that element

vertical-align: top;
