|Around one million of impressions|
But my marketing strategy sucks!

I run a network of sites that have around 30-40k daily impressions, according to Google adsense. However, I think what I am getting from google, which is in terms of hundreds of dollars does not worth it. I tried several advertising companies but then again I hate those "smily ads", "screensavers", and those sorts of advertisements. As i mentioned, my marketing startegy as well as my public relations skills suck bigtime (BTW, is there any forum in WebmasterWorld about developing public relations, not just simple link development?).
I appreciate it if someone could lead me to the right way. One million of impressions, not targeted, with visitors worldwide, a respective ratio from US and Europe certainly worth more than a few hundreds of dollars. Or am I thinking wrong?

What kind of time period are we dealing with here? 30-40k per day, and hundreds of dollars a month? Many hundreds or just a couple?
For untargeted traffic that may not be a bad amount of profit.
Also, are those impressions "page impressions" or "ad impressions"? If you select the different channels individually it's giving you ad impressions, while aggregate will give you the actual number of page impressions.

Well to give a clear idea about my business, this is a free hosting company that is supported by Google Adsense (a netfirms and tripod competetor). Forgive me if I cannot mention names on the public but my company really getting famous and more famous each day. The network of hosted sites drives 30-40k daily impression which is interpreted to a few hundreds of bucks monthly.
We cannot speak about being targeted/untargeted here as each freely hosted site have targeted google advertisements on its header, something that no another advertising company can compete with.
Alright I would stick with Google Adsense for now, but what are your suggestions beside it? Should I advertise for cheap CPM ads using Google Adwords? Should I place a banner on the freely hosted sites that links to another site of mine with higher revenue of higher EPC? Should I sell text link ads on them?
Or do you have better suggestions?

BTW, the main reason for starting this thread is to hear suggestions on how to improve my public relation and marketing strategy skills. It happened also that I have other PR7 sites in different niche markets that gets traffic and revenue but still I cannot hear about them mentioned in any decent web resources. End point, I need allies.

A few hundred dollars from a million impressions? That's pitiful. I think it probably reflects the fact that it is untargeted worldwide traffic.
What size AdSense banner are you using? Switching from 468x60 to 728x90 will likely more than double your earnings. Also, if you can match the colors in the AdSense blocks to the ads on the pages, that might help. You would probably have to do that manually, focusing on the higher volume sites/pages.
You could try to categorize the sites and put relevant category-specific affiliate ads up, but for untargeted worldwide traffic, it's hard to do better than AdSense. You would probably need to combine that with geo-targeting to maximize results.

Using a large banner instead of a small one hasnt helped much, in fact it performed worse! As for categorizing the sites and considering an affiliate marketing, that's a good idea.
