Adsense Vs. Kanoodle BrightAds
Anyone try it?

 3:22 pm on Oct 12, 2004 (gmt 0)

Hi All,
Ive been using AdSense for over a year now and have been more or less happy with it. I see that Kanoodle now has a similar program called BrightAds. Has anyone tried it? I tried it for a day and it seems that the earnings per click are higher although I havent used it enough to know if the CTR would be high enough to make as much as I do on adsense. So, does anyone else have any input on BrightAds? Also, can someone point me to the BrightAds TOS? I cant seem to find it anywhere - do they allow more than one per page?
Thanks, interested to see if anyone else has any experience with it.

how many page impressions are needed to apply for Kanoodle BrightAds?
And how many page impressions are needed minimum to apply for adsense?

I think I remember reading Kanoodle requires 50000 views a month, and adsense doesn't care about the number of page views.

I gave up on Kanoodle a long time ago. I bid for top positions on several major keywords, but Kanoodle still couldn't deliver any traffic. I really don't think Kanoodle has enough users to run a real business.

When I use the same keyword configurations on Google Adwords they deliver as much traffic as I can afford to buy.

It says Brightads - Smart sponsored links. It is somewhat like industry brains. Can we have Adsense and Kanoodle on same page?

Adsense did not like one of my shopping site. It is a high quality site and they refused to tell me the reason.

I signed up for BrightAds last week. My income has dropped significantly and I make almost 50-60% of what I was making with Adsense.

To what extend does kanoodle allow to customize the ads? I have heard it offers paypal as payment option does it also have wire transfer? I have applied today, waiting for their response.

Perhaps I am missing something, but does the service agreement tie you up in an exclusive agreemenet with Kanoodle for an entire year?

(e) Kanoodle and COMPANY agree that during the term of this Agreement, COMPANY will not implement on the COMPANY Pages a Sponsored Links Service provided by any other company. For purposes of this Section, a "Sponsored Links Service" means a system that provides functionality that is the same as or substantially similar to any of the Kanoodle Services company, as determined by Kanoodle in its sole but reasonable discretion.

10.Term and Termination.

(a) This Agreement will remain in effect for one year (the "Term"), commencing upon the first date that the Kanoodle Links are live to end users on the COMPANY Pages ("Live Date"), subject to any earlier termination as provided herein. The Term shall automatically renew for one year periods if not terminated prior to the end of the Term.

Is it ok to use Adsense and Brightads? As brightads delivers ads based on topics instead of content.

Anyone running this and have a sense of the earnings?

I have applied to them 3 weeks back. I was told I would be updated in 3 days if my account is approved or not. But no reply from them.

I wanted to try Brightads as an alternative but they refused my site: "we determined that the focus of your site does not fit with Kanoodle's BrightAds partnership program at this time."

Does anyone know what criteria they use when choosing? My sites were accepted to Adsense and are content-rich.

Anyone actually in the program yet?

I run BrightAds. The problem is they don't have a large number of advertisers. But I hope situation will improve in coming days.

I have to assume that their payout would be in line with the bids for terms on Kanoodle, which isn't very high.

Most terms are 1/10 or 1/5th of what they are on overture, so I'd assume the payouts would be as well.

Kanoodle has separate products for search and content pages. These products have separate databases of advertisers and bids.

BrightAds currently uses advertisers and bids from Kanoodle’s content-targeted sponsored links product, ContextTarget. These listings have an average CPC that is very competitive with the other providers, if not higher, and significantly higher than that in our keyword search advertiser database.

Plus, because we are mapping ads to topics, and not based on keywords, you can be sure that our ads are always relevant and never mismapped, which should result in higher CTRs.

Welcome to WW KanoodleGal!

I am interested in hearing additional feedback on this service

I think I remember reading Kanoodle requires 50000 views a month, and adsense doesn't care about the number of page views.

Just to clarify, we here at Kanoodle do not have a set minimum impressions needed to be approved by the BrightAds program.

Hope that this helps!

KanoodleGal - can you please tell us a bit about your advertiser demos - is it mostly B2B or B2C?

 6:35 pm on Nov 4, 2004 (gmt 0)

The demographics of Kanoodle’s advertising base mirror those of the industry as a whole. Our advertising base yields an approximate 85/15 split, with B2C advertisers being the majority.

Due to BrightAds “topic” based approach to mapping we can ensure that your site is serving ads appropriate to your site’s content and audience, whether that be B2B or B2C. In addition, we manually review each site to verify relevancy and editorial integrity.

Hope that this helps.
