>I calso hecked Ask Jeeves and they are now only showing paid listings
Looks like the same database at [ask.com...] to me. Maybe your region has updated ahead of where I'm looking at. Thanks for the heads-up though, I'll be keeping an eye out (what a disgusting expression.)
<added> And if Teoma has updated, then they are using my site description from a couple months ago.

I just checked Ask Jeeves again and I am seeing the usual results again. Maybe there was just a hiccup when I last checked.
Teoma has definitely updated, because my rankings were horrible the last time I checked (February 3rd) and now ... not too shaby!

Did you pay for any pages liane?

Hey, I was wondering the same thing, Liane. I found this -
on the 2nd, too. My site has not been included, either.
I've haven't paid for any spidering.

There's been an update alright! Teoma is including my two sites (in their new domain) for first time and Ask Jeeves is too, in same positions. I'm thrilled, and grateful.
Submitted via email to AJ two months ago explaining transfer to new domain and asking that old URLs be deleted and new ones added. They've done that with one old URL and included the new one. With the other URL, both old and new are in the current serp. Hope they dump that old one soon - it's dead and buried!
For the description on the serp, Teoma seems to have used description meta (first) followed by one/two words of the title meta (second) but not sure there.
Anyways - Thanks Teoma! Top effort! :)

Absolutely an update!
Pages went up end of November, now in. No Yahoo, no ODP, did_not pay. Coming up for main search phrases, a few spots lower than at Google. They're using the meta description.
It is not a *new* site on its own, it's part of a site that's been up for a while, in a directory.
New site redesigned in January now in. Using top graphic alt tag, H2 and part of first sentence for description. Not paid. Another older site with minor changes a few months ago is now showing new page title and coming up for the new search term.

No ... I didn't pay to submit, but I did write to them many months ago and asked to be included as they (at that time) had no way to submit. They wrote me back and said they would try but wouldn't guarantee anything. Pretty darn good service I thought! I wrote about it here:
[webmasterworld.com...] but got an 404 error when I tried to pull up the thread to find the date I wrote them.

I am even seeing a few (very few referrals from askjeeves.com), but I am also sneaking into lycos without paying.
And no, I have never paid them,

Yes, an update. My newsletter appears as an expert link and as it is my December issue appearing on my current issue URL (and not from the archive) it is safe to say that these listings were spidered at the beginning of December.
